জন্মাষ্টমী হল শ্রীকৃষ্ণের জন্ম উদযাপনের একটি হিন্দু উৎসব। এটি প্রতি বছর আগস্ট মাসে পালিত হয়। কৃষ্ণপক্ষের অষ্টমী তারিখ জন্মাষ্টমী পালনের তারিখ। শ্রীকৃষ্ণকে ভগবান বিষ্ণুর দশটি অবতারের মধ্যে সবচেয়ে শক্তিশালী বলে মনে করা হয়। হিন্দুরা জাঁকজমক ও গৌরবের সঙ্গে জন্মাষ্টমী উদযাপন করে। ভগবান শ্রীকৃষ্ণ সম্পর্কে একটু কথা বলা যাক।

শ্রীকৃষ্ণের জীবন কাহিনী

শ্রীকৃষ্ণ ভগবান বিষ্ণুর অন্যতম অবতার। তিনি প্রায় 5200 বছর আগে হিন্দু ক্যালেন্ডারের ভাদন মাসের অন্ধকার পাক্ষিকের 8 তম দিনে জন্মগ্রহণ করেছিলেন। তাকে অত্যন্ত শক্তিশালী ঈশ্বর হিসেবে বিবেচনা করা হয়। অশুভ হাতছানি থেকে মুক্ত করার একটি বিশেষ উদ্দেশ্য নিয়ে তিনি পৃথিবীতে জন্মগ্রহণ করেছিলেন। মহাকাব্য, মহাভারতে তার গভীর প্রভাব ছিল, যেখানে তিনি পাণ্ডবদের পক্ষ নিয়েছিলেন এবং কুরুক্ষেত্রের যুদ্ধে তাদের বিজয়ের পথ দেখিয়েছিলেন। সারা জীবন তিনি ভক্তি ও কর্মের ধারণা প্রচার করেন।

ভগবান শ্রীকৃষ্ণ জেলে জন্মগ্রহণ করেছিলেন যেহেতু তার বাবা -মাকে তার মামা কংশা কারাগারে রেখেছিলেন। কংসের আশঙ্কা ছিল যে তাদের পিতামাতার অষ্টম সন্তান তাকে হত্যা করবে। কৃষ্ণ অষ্টম সন্তান হলেও তার বাবা বাসুদেব তাকে তার বন্ধু নন্দ দিয়ে কংশের হাত থেকে রক্ষা করেছিলেন। কৃষ্ণ গোকুল সমাজে তার পালক পিতা নন্দ এবং পালক মাতা যশোদার কাছে বড় হয়েছেন। তিনি তার শৈশব এবং যৌবনে বেশ কয়েকটি অসুরকে হত্যা করে বেশ কয়েকটি জাদুকরী অভিনয় দেখিয়েছিলেন এবং তিনি বড় হয়ে একজন শক্তিশালী ব্যক্তি হয়েছিলেন। অবশেষে, তিনি এবং তার ভাই বলরাম একটি যুদ্ধের টুর্নামেন্টের জন্য কংশের প্রাসাদে গিয়েছিলেন, যেখানে কৃষ্ণ কংসকে হত্যা করেছিলেন।

যেহেতু ভগবান শ্রীকৃষ্ণের জন্ম হয়েছিল রাতে, তাই মানুষ মধ্যরাতে জন্মাষ্টমী উদযাপন করে। মানুষ জন্মাষ্টমী উদযাপনের একটি বিশেষ উপায় অনুসরণ করে। যেহেতু ভগবান শ্রীকৃষ্ণ মাখন খেতে পছন্দ করতেন, তাই মানুষ মাখনের সাথে খেলাধুলা করত। তারা মাখনকে একটি মাটির হাঁড়িতে রাখেন যার নাম মাতকি। বিচারক মাখন ভরা মটকি মাটির অনেক উঁচুতে বেঁধে দেন। মানুষ দলে দলে এই খেলা খেলে। এই লোকেরা এত লম্বা একটি পিরামিড তৈরি করে যে তারা উপরে বাঁধা মটকি পর্যন্ত পৌঁছাতে পারে। অন্যান্য দল তাদের মাতকি পৌঁছাতে বাধা দেওয়ার চেষ্টা করে। প্রত্যেক দলেরই মাতকি পৌঁছানোর একটি নির্দিষ্ট সময় আছে। যদি কোনো দল সময়ের আগে মাতকিতে পৌঁছাতে ব্যর্থ হয়, তাহলে অন্যান্য দলকে মটকি পৌঁছানোর সুযোগ দেওয়া হয়। এই খেলাটি এতই আকর্ষণীয় যে অনেক মানুষ খেলা দেখতে আসে।

ঘরে ঘরে জন্মাষ্টমী বিভিন্নভাবে উদযাপিত হয়। লোকেরা ঘরের ভিতর এবং বাইরে উভয়ই লাইট দিয়ে সাজায়। তারা বিভিন্ন মন্দিরে পূজা এবং নৈবেদ্য প্রদান করে। জন্মাষ্টমীর প্রাক্কালে, আমরা সকলেই সারা দিনের জন্য মন্ত্র এবং ঘণ্টার শব্দ শুনি। অনেকে ধর্মীয় গান গাইতে এবং নাচতেও ভালোবাসেন। জন্মাষ্টমী হিন্দু ধর্মে অন্যতম আড়ম্বরপূর্ণ এবং আনন্দময় উৎসব হিসাবে বিবেচিত হয়।
